To mark His Majesty The King’s Coronation thousands of organisations across the country got together to give us all the chance to help out in our own local communities.
We co-ordinated a 3 hour Big Help Out volunteering event for all local residents. Despite the rainy bank holiday weather, over 60 people turned out to voluntarily improve our town.
The OPPORTUNITY:
- spring planting and spruce up of the local train station
- pick weeds and/or litter at the Scotch Common area in the town centre
- paint the litter bins and cauldrons in the town centre (deferred due to conditions)
- be part of the mini-sweep team on the cobbles (deferred due to conditions) OR
- litter pick in your local neighbourhood and share your pictures
The volunteers were rewarded with a hot drink and refreshments at St Mary’s Church hall.
We would like to thank all who took the time to get involved. A little from many makes a world of difference!
