Sandbach Tree of Light Ceremony will be held at Sandbach Cemetery on Thursday 6th December 5pm till 6pm. Sandbach Partnership, who are leading the initiative to establish Sandbach as a Dementia Friendly community, are to run monthly Dementia Friends Information Sessions to raise awareness about dementia around Sandbach. Three local residents, Dot Flint, Sandbach Partnership Chair, and local Rotarians Jane Spencer and Dave Whitworth were recently trained in Crewe as Dementia Friends Champions to run these sessions, together with local resident Helen Williams, who as a Champion has already created over 300 Dementia Friends. Sandbach Partnership wish to thank all participants who worked hard to make to make their Health & Well-being Fayre a fantastic success, Sandbach Mayor and Consort formally opened  the event  and participants included representatives from Everybody’s Leisure, Manchester  Metropolitan University, Hearing Dogs For the Deaf and many more community groups.

Sandbach Partnership are running dementia friend’s information sessions during Dementia Action Week (between 21st and 27th May) as part of their initiative to establish Sandbach as a dementia friendly community. Three local residents, Dot Flint, Sandbach Partnership Chair, and local Rotarian Jane Spencer and Dave Whitworth were recently trained in Crewe as Dementia Friends Champions to run these and future information sessions in Sandbach. David Whitworth is running free ‘Dementia Friends’ Information Sessions on Monday 21st May and Wednesday 23rd May

Sandbach Partnership have played a key role in supporting Grass Roots Disability Sandbach as they complete another phase of the ‘Drop Kerb’ project in Sandbach town centre. Grass Roots Disability Sandbach continues to progress since being set up in September 2015. The group was started by Craig Bayley (chairman) a local disabled resident with the help and guidance of Dot Flint (Chair of Sandbach Partnership).
