Saturday 26th October 2024 saw the return of Spooky Saturday, a free family event which took place on the cobbles and St Mary’s Church hall from 3pm to 6pm.
The event was hugely successful as hundreds of people attended from Sandbach and the surrounding areas. The event started with our annual fancy dress parade and competition which was judged by the Mayor of Sandbach, Cllr Ann Nevitt and Helen Dorney, Chair of Sandbach Partnership.
Visitors enjoyed a range of free activities including apple bobbing, slime station, face painter and arts & crafts. We were delighted to be joined by some great theatrical talent from Carney Youth Academy and enjoyed the dynamic dancing skills of Shannon Louise Dance Academy.
The event was funding by Sandbach Town Council and Sandbach Partnership, the event considered the cost of living crisis with snacks such hotdogs and candy floss subsidised to provide a fantastic afternoon out at a very low cost.
Anne-Marie Robinson, event lead and vice-chair of Sandbach Partnership commented, “We are delighted with the turnout at this year’s Spooky Saturday. This is a key event in the calendar which brings the community together and benefits local business, charities and community groups”.
All this plus music and stalls offering pocket money picks, tombola and fun games for all the family. With so much positive feedback received, we hope all that have attended enjoyed the day.
